First update

Welcome to our blog. The children and I are glad you could visit. Stay a while and learn what we have been up to.

I will try to give updates rather frequently and let everyone know how our life in Vermont is evolving and growing.

First let me update you on just who is in the 'Langille Ledger'.

Mary Kate: Mary Kate is now eleven years old and growing to be a wonderful young lady. I often tell her if she becomes a nasty teenager I will be broken hearted. (She assures me she will not!) She is finishing up the fifth grade at Dothan Brook School in Wilder and will soon move on to the Hartford Memorial Middle School. She is excited about the coming graduation to middle school but I am sure there are a few nerves there.

Mary's summer plans are big and are getting bigger by the day....even if they are just plans for now. She will attend a summer soccer day camp then go to Maine for Aunt Pam's wedding to Ed at the Joyous Day Farm. We will then get her to Colleen's grandparents home north of Toronto for a week of fun and play. August will have some great time with Mimi Langille in Chatham.

Mary is a joyous kid with a quiet confidence. She has a tendency to not want to stand out however her inner light shines so bright she is hard to miss.

Charlotte: Charlotte turned nine in November and has a smile that lights up a room. She has my temperament....infer what you will. She is in the third grade and likes it very much. Her favorite subjects are the arts and science....again, much like Mum. She is my outdoor girl that would rather be outdoors, no matter time, weather or deed. She is most likely to be seen in a dress, playing in the mud or riding her bike at break neck speeds.

Her summer plans are also shaping up. She will attend Field Hockey day Camp. (I think she likes it because she has a weapon!). She of course will go to Maine as Spring River and the Fourth of July in Cherryfield is something she would never miss. I am sure she will camp here and there with best friend Omega. They are two sides of a coin...not alike but not far apart either. Mimi will enjoy how she has grown and how much she is looking forward to Chatham in August.

Cameron: Cameron is in first grade and really enjoys school. Every Friday afternoon he brings home his work from the week and we sit down and go over it. He is so proud of what he does! He loves to read and plays on his Leapster. He has gotten to love being outside and plays with the neighborhood 'gang' frequently. His imagination is amazing and he has a flair for the dramatic as his impressions leave me in giggles. His brain often works quicker than his mouth as he can't get his words out fast enough to express his many thoughts. His Birthday is fast approaching. He will be eight in July. Cam's sports of choice are swimming and now he wants to learn golf. I am sure he, like Charlotte, enjoys the thought of having a weapon.

Cam's summer will revolve around Spring River in Maine, Bar Harbor where we have to go on a Whale watch as last years was cancelled due to weather, and he will also make the trek to Chatham at some point. I am also looking into a theater camp for him to bring out his dramatic side even more.

Michael: Michael celebrated his sixth birthday in April. He has told me that he will be happy to stay six forever but he is "over" being five. Michael still loves to play with cars, trucks, dinosaurs, trains, books, mud, sand, water, dirt...actually anything at all. He is finishing up his kindergarten year where he was thrilled to be going on the AM bus with the other children in the morning. His dad or I pick him up by lunch from school and we have some great one on one time. His dad is working on his baseball skills with him and he can't wait for soccer in the fall. Hockey, I'm sure can not be far behind.

Michael has decided that he wants to build walls with Uncle Jack all summer. We'll see how that goes. He also has decided that he wants to swim by himself in Maine. Actually, he said "Mommy, I DON'T NEED YOU anymore!" Again, we'll see.

Mom: Well, life certainly has taken many turns for me over the past few years. Walter and I have divorced but we remain friends and dedicated to being good parents to our four wonderful children. I am working as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire which is only a few mile from the house. I enjoy the work and the people I work with. Right now, Walter and I are working in the house in an effort to sell it. I don't know where exactly we will end up but I am sure it won't be far. Life is to good in the Upper Valley.

Well, here we go.......
